Fragile

"Only seeing my parents after a long time... only then I realised how fragile they became. Sensitive, in need of love and support even if they don't admit that."

Kangaroos, bro!

Íme az ígért ausztrál cselekménysorozat.

(Srcoll down for english, please)

Este 8-ra érkeztem be Sydnyebe.

Másnap irány a város, persze zuhogó esőben. Még így is szép volt. A szállástársam gépe csak délután indult, szóval úgy döntöttünk, hogy együtt nézünk szét a városban. Nekem tetszett a hely, szép épületek, gyönyörű botanikus kert a város közepén csodaszép madarakkal. A helyi művészeti múzeum is esélyt kapott megmutatni értékeit.

A földön szeméthegy szétdobált müzli stb.

Sweet as Australia?! :O

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, as expected the time has come to do the first trip "abroad" (this sounds a bit awkward), which was a flight to Australia. I only had 4 and a half day, but it was enough to taste the australian wonder. And it haven't caused a disappointment, except that I was traveling there in the hope of infinite sunshine, and I've got only a kind of a monsun for a whole day in Sydney. :) But I am glad that I love rain, so it was not a problem.

But let's when it's started. Let's say it has started when I was really exhausted because of the work, so except the the booking of the flight and making a travel insurance, I haven't organised anything. I was simply to tired, and did not really care. As expected, this has had its adventorous result later.

I have arrived at 8 pm to Sydney. I thought I leave my stuff at my future accomodation and do a short walk in the city. 1. It was bloody rainy outside, that as I mentioned before would not have been a problem. 2. I forgot that it is Easter... :) I went to the first backpacker, but how suprising, they were sold out. Then I went to the second place right on the other side of the street. Same situation... Damn... (I mean dynamite). In the same time another homeless looking guy (let's say a hillbilly looking worker from the countryside) came there to book a bed. Afterwards I've got a map, with the address of the next backpacker, he asked me if he can you me, so we can try our luck together. I said why not.
From that time 'til midnight we were just walking in the city looking for a backpacker, without any luck. I have to add, that it was still raining, and the guy was robbed the day before, so he had hes flipflops, hes sleeping bag and some cash with him. So we could move only slowly. At some point we were thinking that we should sleep at the train station, however since my brand new camera was with me as well, I strongly suggested rather to go the airport (I am already a professional airport sleeper anyway. :) ). So, we went to the airport, and at 1 am, finally I could put myself into "bed", I mean in my sleeping bag. But then a security guy came, and informed us, that the area will be closed for the night, we have to leave. So we packed and went to the area suggested by this guy. Our incerdible bad luck was, that we found a quiet place, and in the second when I have finally found the perfect position for having a comfortable sleep, the same security came there, and said "guys this is already the part of the trainstation, you can't stay here..." Damn it (Dynamite)!!
So we moved to a third place where finally we could relax. One last check on our passport, which has proved that we arent random homeless people looking for a place to sleep, and then finally...!
Yeah, I can't really call it sleeping, since there were always some insomniacs, who had to toss their luggage cart out of the elevator, which was right next to my head (the only place where I could find a free space). Now worries, this was the part of the adventure as well. :)

Next day we headed to the city again, of course in heavy rain... :) It was really nice even though. The flight of my accomodation friend has departed only in the afternoon, so we decided to explore the city together. I liked the city. Nice architecture, beautiful Botanical Garden in the very middle of the city, with colorful birds. There were tremendous amount of asian people though. I thought that there are a lot in Auckland, but I don't think it is comparable. :) I've found the city a bit to crowded, but this feeling was maybe only because I am not the greatest fan of big cities. The local museum of arts, had got a chance as well, to show its values, it was worth to look around there. We had a short boat trip to Manly, which is a suburb of Sydney. I have to say, this was my first time on a boat in such huge waves. I mean they were really huge, we literally impacted into the water after crossing some big swells. I enjoyed it, but my friend had his first ever time on a boat, so I could clearly see the fear on his face. :) It was funny.

Oh, I almost forgot. I booked the accomodation roght in the morning, since I did not want to spend another night at the airport. Knowing the Nomads Backpackers, I thought that it will be the same quality as in New Zealand. Well, that was a fairly incorrect assumption. IN the evening when I arrived to check-in it was a kind of... dissapointment. Strong smell of moisture in the tiny little room with a tiny little window for 6 person. It was really dirty, seemed like that the actual roommates were more permanent users than me, but they weren't house trained at all. They arrived home late shouting to each other turning on the lights, and continouing the shouting. Well it was the part of the adventure. I was smileying, since I had to live this kind of stuff as well... :)

And then the next day came! Sunshine, and even more sunshine, and no clouds! I felt unstoppeable. And indeed, after a short search I have found a car rental place, and an hour later I was already on the Grand pacific Drive, or whatever it is called.

Astonishing scenery, beautiful beaches and even more beautiful swells! I did not need a map, I just followed the road. I stopped whenever and wherever I wanted. When I was hungry I ate, when I wanted to swim I went in to the ocean. It is an interesting feeling when you have the complete freedom.

In the evening I even caught a "Woow" category sun set. And finally the time had came to sleep. I would say that my lil' car was not appropriate for a 180 high man, but I haven't had such a good sleep for long time. :)

Next day I headed to Pebbly Beach where kangaroos just lying on the beach and enjoying the sunshine like people do. Imagine an idillic beach, with a jungle and a green grass carpet turning into sand and obviously amazing swells. :)

I did a small jungle hiking in the hope of finding a Koala in the eucalypt forest, but I did not have the luck (yeah I was lot more careful than usual, who knows what kind of deadly animal was waiting for me in the bush). One more reason to go back sometimes.

It was a really nice little trip on the last day I managed a visit on a true big city  party beach which really looked like a beach in the american  movies. :) Certainly beautiful waves again, therefore I decided to rent a board and show, that I am a fantastic surfer already. Haha, after the first "I will smash you in the soft sand now" wave, I had the feeling that I was awesome only on baby swells so far. I was able to catch two biggies in an hour though. Well, I still have a lot to learn. But the beach was incredible, amase-balls, I can imaging a few months, or a year living there. :)

That was my adventure in nutshell. I planned to meet to people there, unfortunately we could not arrange that. At the end I met Adri here in New Zealand so it was alright. :)
Conclusion: I have to go back to Australia and find a Koala in its natural habitat.. :)

Sweet as Australia?! :O

Laying low for a while? This plan is inherently sentenced to fail.

Sziasztok!/Yo, fellas!

(Scroll down for english version)

I know I am not a diligent blogger. This isn't my sport somehow, but finally here is a new post.

A szörfözés mellett persze kellő mennyiségű szocializálódásra is sort kerítettem.

Szóval, velük is elmentem a kötelező helyre Muriwaira. Szem becsuk, megáll a csodálatos kilátásnál, szem kinyit, ámuló arcokban gyönyörködik. Minden alkalommal olyan jó végignézni, ahogy az emberek elcsodálkoznak. Jómagam is minden alkalommal megállok ezen a ponton, amikor megyek szörfözni.

No meg persze vulkán trip is.

Sweet as New Zealand

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the title already suggests I tried to take a break in the past few months, since we all need some rest sometimes. However it seems like that this is the real mission impossible. First of all I can't move enough far away, to not be able to meet some good people from Europe. After the 9 little indian from Vienna have left New Zealand, soon an old friend from Finland has shown up. I have met Zsuzsi (who has arrived with her mom, to explore this beautiful country) back when I was studying in Finland, we did not communicate to much, but from time to time we kept in touch, so the friendship remainded. It was good to see a familiar face from the past. Although they didn't stay in Auckland for to long, we managed to go to Muriwai, and I could show her the art of the hillarious bodyboarding.

Of course at this time it was middle of summer, so I was on the beach as much as I could. Or to be more precise I was on the top of the waves (Okay, to be even more precise, I was twisted, hammered, consumed by the waves). I 've been tranformed to a surf-addict, and there were weeks, when I went out for surfing 5 times. After work... and of course after work, and weekends all day...
Finally I can consider myself as a beginner surfer. :)

Besides surfing I've made enough effort to socialize a bit more. A small trip to the north. It turned out that Loic, Peta, Ludo, Reza, Maryam are perfect candidates for some nice bonfire evenings. There is nothing better than making a small (or big:) ) bonfire on a night with full moon, doing BBQ, dancing, listening to raggae. I know, I know... This is so hippy, but I dont really care. We are in Hippyland. :) (peace to everyone)

The BBQ afternoons started to be the part of the weekend routine. I believe the guys are starting to have steak overdose... :)
Its true that because of the warm weather I preferred surfing, but I still separated some extra time to visit 1 or 2 salsa classes as well. Besides, I managed to go out and play pool with Milan occasionally, and so maintaining the Thursday pool sessions.
Yeah, work takes a lot from my everyday life, we have a bit tough times at the company, and I'm dreaming with gears and rotating radar antennas with that special squicky noise already. At least it is interesting, and I don't have to sit at my desk all day, so I don't have anything to complain about. :)

And we are already in the middle of March, when actually the next european taskforce has arrived. Tika and Marci. They were planning a permanent staying. Which turned out to be so succesfull, that Marci has got already a job, they bought a car, both of them have the Working Holiday Visa, and Marci will have the permanent version soon. Now thats the hungarian spirit!

So I went out to the compulsary Muriwai with them as well.  Eyes closed, stopping at the breathtaking viewpoint, eyes open, enjoying the amazment on the faces. It is always so good to see the astonished expressions. :) The point is really spectacular, I always stop by when I go out to muriwai. I think I will make this spot the initiation point to New Zealand for every new comers, tourists, immigrants, whom I'm giving a guided tour.

Afterwards we have visited so many different and of course beautiful places. I consider myself as a guy, who already have seen a lot of New Zealand, but still I was amazed quite often how is it possible to scale up the vieworgy even more... :O

And then Australia came! Yes, I have left this beautiful country for a short period of time (I will write a separate post about this, but taking into account that I've already promised such things before, this time I will do the post straight after finishing the current one)

And we have arrived to the end of April. Time is flying so fast. One year has past since I moved to New Zealand. I can hardly believe this.
I may not realise things truely, because there is always a familiar face showing up bringing a peace of home here. :) That must be the reason why I'm not really homesick. :P And speaking of the familiar faces. Another visitor has arrived at the end of the month. Although we did not know each other personally, Adri came from Gyula, like myself, and our parents know each other well. So, Adri has organizes a two months trip to APAC, and as a part of this she came for two weeks to New Zealand as well. And then I came into the picture. Of course I will give a tour with full of happenings, to a lady especially is she is from Gyula. :)
First of all we could not miss the usual "close your eyes and be amazed of the view at Muriwai" session. Connected together with a nice sun set. This combination of experience was new for me as well. I really enjoyed it.
And of course the trip to the volcano (Mt. Taranaki) was new as well. Obviously we had beautiful weather all the way there, we even have seen the volcano from a distance, however when we have arrived, everything was cloudy... couldn't see a thing... That cursed Murphy never sleeps...

Again, I can't really complain, since we have seen some really spectacular places. We could experience the tasty spagetti bolognese a'la Marci, and of course we drove hundreds of kilometers. :)

As the part of the tour I showed her the city, some nice pubs, we went out for waterfall watching, we even went out for salsa. Adri had a really kind memorable phrase for this occasion: "Its funny, that I had to travel 18K kilometers to dance salsa with a guy from Gyula" it is really funny indeed.
As a sum up it was good to see somebody from my home town, and was even better that this person was a kind lady. Was a good opportunity to think back of some nice memories from my beloved lil' town.

Currently it's May. I think I really take a short break (I say this all the time). It was a half a year full of experiences. I am happy for every moment of it and I hope the next part will be as good as the previous one.

Sweet as New Zealand

Surf Yeah! and the game of Gentle Giants

First of all, since I have international friends as well I am going to make bilingual posts from now on. See the english version at the bottom of the post. :)

Arra ott lesz a nemsokára elkészülő videócska.

Szóval néhány igazán hétköznapi dolgot szeretnék most elmesélni.

Mindeközben figyeltem a körülöttem lévő embereket.

:) Nagyon sweet as... !

A hétköznapok.

Sweet as New Zealand!

Hello World!

It was so long ago, that I wrote last time, maybe it wasn't even true.... oh shit, this is my first english post, so maybe I shouldn't just mirror translate the hungarian post. :) Anyway...

Lot of stuff happened in the last few weeks. I don't want to write down all the stories that have happend during the holiday. There will be a nice video, which explains everything, hopefully You guys will understand all the stuff, that will be edited into the videocut.

But just to give a few words, it was an amazing three weeks, which proved, that I have true friends in Vienna (and of course in Hungary as well). It was an exhausting adventure, but I hope non of the Hungarian Horde members will regret it, rather burn into their memory, as the best adventure ever. :)

Well, the main reason of my current posting is, just to show a small piece of this country, a piece of the life here. It is the same life as in Europe, but still it is different.

Summer is here, the temperature is not too high (like 26-28 degrees), but the sun is burning, so I don't wear to warm clothes, when I go to work. The motivation for hiking has revived with the good weather, so I, Chun and Jeremie did a nice walk, which was rather a climbing challange at the end. :) But we have got our reward for that, besides the exhausting way back. :) A nice cave system was waiting for us down. With crabs, starfishes, huge caves with a huge hole on the top of it. It was so spectacular. The place can be only visited during low tide. And its not a popular place, rather a remote beach, for the hikers who are looking for some adventure. That was the best thing about it. :)

Oh crap... writing bilingual post seems to be more difficult than I thought. :)
Today I went out to Muriwai beach to enjoy my time with Lil' George. We had a really nice time together. Besides the fun I was watching the people around me, they have a such a simple, but admirable life. They just come out bring the family, the friends, and they are enjoying the sunshine, the waves, just playing with a ball, or doing surf. No poshy stuff.. They enjoy the life, and they are doing this daily basis. They don't really care much of the outside world. It's really hard to describe, since such life can be achieved in a developed country like in Austria as well. I wish I could bring all the people here and show them, what's the difference.

By the way! It is so amazing doing surf! Doesn't seem to be that difficult as I thought it will be. After a few hours I already managed to ride a wave, while I was standing on the board. It was trully sweet as. ;) Ah yes, before I forget, let me introduce Lil' George. It's my brand new 7"9' long surf board. I think we will be really good friends.

As a last story, after I have left the beach I saw a place with a big crowd, so I decided to stop, and check out. The crowd was not specifically interesting, rather the maori people. They were playing touch rugby. I don't know to much about the game, maybe its played the same way everywhere, but it was suprising for me, how gently and carefully these huge people were playing it. Payed a lot of attention to each other, barelly touched the guy with the ball. Zero agression and maximum enjoyment.
Looking at these people and processing the happenings of the past weeks, we can easily can go by these little things, but these minor moments are making this country so different. These average days.

My post may be a bit messy or some parts not really understandable, as I said it is really hard to describe this life, but I thought I give a try and share something about New Zealand.

Sweet as New Zealand!
